Ruth Chigwada-Bailey

Ruth is an independent consultant criminologist and the director of Criminology in the Millennium publishing papers and holding conferences on around race, gender and criminal justice system and offering training to organisations on the subject.
She was a lecturer in criminology at Birbeck College, University of London from 1989 to 2001 and has been a visiting lecturer to many other universities. Ruth has been a commentator and writer on issues affecting black women, notably in relation criminal justice. She was elected a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce in 2005, was a finalist at The British Females Inventors & Innovators Network in 2006 and received numerous awards for academic achievements.
