Cynthia Cockburn

Cynthia is a feminist researcher and writer on gender, war and peace and has published several books and articles on the subject. She has spent over ten years working with women peace activists in conflicted countries doing qualitative action-research, resulting in a series of studies on particular women’s organisations in Northern Ireland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Israel/Palestine and Cyprus.
Cynthia is the visiting professor in the Department of Sociology at City University London and involved in the international feminist anti-militarist networks Women in Black against War and Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.
