Resource: National BAME Women’s Councillor Shadowing Scheme

The National BAME Women’s Councillor Shadowing Scheme is being launched by Operation Black Vote and the Government Equalities Office to help improve the number of black and minority ethnic women in government. The shadowing scheme is looking for 50 candidates to take part in this extension of the BAME Women Councillors’ Taskforce.

The cross party BAME Women Councillors’ Taskforce has been set up to help make local councils more representative of the community. Members are women from a wide range of backgrounds and experience from across the country.
