Potential Funding for groups working with FGM in UK

12Jan09

The Women’s Resource Centre, a charity who aim to make women’s organisations more successful and sustainable, has been asked by a group of independent charitable funders to conduct an assessment of voluntary and community organisations and projects in the UK which are currently working in the Female Genital Mutilation field or supporting women and girls affected, or which are interested in, or have the potential to work in this area.

The information gathered will help provide said charitable funders with the impetus to fund women working to end FGM, a practice that can have dire consequences for the young girls it is forced upon and is recognised as a breach of human rights. Check out the World Health Oganisation’s information on FGM.

Complete the brief survey set up the WRC, or contact Tania Pouwhare at tania@wrc.org.uk or 020 7324 3030.

The survey closes on Tuesday 17 February at 3pm.
